Upcoming Potluck at Whole Foods!

Great News!

Whole Foods Market has generously offered the use of their classroom space for SA Vegans use, for our Potluck next Saturday, February 25th at 5:30!

The classroom has a full stove and double oven for our use, and we can use the sinks, countertops, tables and chairs.

Because of TABC, we cannot bring in our own adult beverages. However, you may purchase beer and wine (including organic wine!) at Whole Foods and consume it in the classroom! That would also be a nice gesture to say thank you to Whole Foods for giving us this great space, and for free this first go-round.

THREE IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW:

1. Your potluck item should be completely vegan. If you have any questions about this, please email me!

2. Plan on bringing your own pots/dishes/utensils/drinking cups/napkins etc- they will not be providing any of these items.

3. The room has to be completely spotless when we leave. We will do our own clean up. So please plan on cleaning up your own stuff, and then helping with a super fast clean up afterward.
A vegan potluck is a great way to try new foods, and experience how crazy awesome vegan eating can be! Please bring enough to feed at least 8 people.

If the joint force of San Antonio Vegans and Whole Foods works out, then we can talk about the future and making this a recurring event.

How awesome! Thank you again to Whole Foods for reaching out to us and making the offer. Vegans, feel empowered! We are making an impact on this city that we love. :)

Dinner at the Cove- A success!

Friday night is what we would call a "BIG WHOPPING SUCCESS" mess! We had more people join us than had RSVP'd, which- if you know anything about San Antonio- is saying somethin' (we are not known for being good at the RSVP)!
We had about 25-30 local vegans show up, and those are only the ones that stayed. The Cove was so jammed packed, that a few people left in search of a more speedily consumable meal!

Not only did The Cove prepare several special vegan selections in our honor, they also signed on as a Member Card Participant ( more about this later). They had a killer grilled cheese with mixed olives, a vegan gumbo, and to-die-for chocolate pecan pie- I also heard a rumor that they prepared vegan nachos for someone. Even the girl who was "wo"-manning the register was vegan, and commented on how they were going to beg to have the grilled cheese added to the menu. All we can say to that is "please do!"

We had such a great turnout that we ran out of room, but the conversation was fun and there was an undercurrent of excitement running through all of us as more and more veggie lovers arrived. We stayed until after midnight, and had a really fantastic time meeting lots of new peeps.

We're still working on a location for our potluck, so if you have any ideas or spaces up for grabs, please contact shylah@sanantoniovegans.com this week.

More news to come on our monthly Vegan Drinks get-together, and several other special events in March. Thanks to everyone who came out for some good food and convo- thanks both to Vegan Eats and Gluten Free Vegan Journey for joining us.

While you are on our page today, please take a look at our cool new shop, our business directory, and our map o' vegans!

peace!
